Trinity of Love

I

In the moments
when we first touched,
with tremulous lips,
and trembling fingers,
yearning in eagerness,
passion shared in a breath.

Our bodies forever
falling together,
among tousled sheets,
and twisted limbs,
nothing else seems to exist
beyond the point where you
begin and I end.

Reliving the moment
when our eyes first met,
electrified, and upon your
smile I died a little death
in the surmounting bliss.

Tender thoughtless caresses,
absent-minded kisses,
sentient serenity oozes
through the pores.

Stagnant harmony,
hands join briefly
with unexplained sighs
of lost guilt ridden
secret thoughts.

Wordless understanding
settles in where movements
speak for themselves,
and painful regrets
interwoven with sincere feeling.

III

Slowly it begins to wither
in painstaking bitterness
once words no longer needed
now there are none left to
be spoken.

The last tears have fallen
as permanance settles in
an understanding of the loss,
memories like ghosts haunting
the halls.

Fading from view
leaving behind only
yellow edged photographs
and smiles which now will forever
be questioned.
