Literature Text

I clench my teeth
willing my body
into stillness,
black menacing
eyes upon me,
I see their
sinister mocking
smiles
as I feel myself
begin to twitch,
the cold seeping
into my bones,
my eyes closed
tight, I fear to take
a step or it might
unleash a shudder,
and those dark shades
passing the gray
streets will unleash
their dreadful laughter,
my jaw aches
from keeping
my teeth from chattering,
while they all wait
to jeer,
grinning white teeth
like skeleton faces.
Tremophobia: Fear of trembling

Part of this fear stems from the fear of being embarrassed about trembling/shivering as from cold in public. It can also be connected to a fear of losing control.
