Icarus DreamsHe had Icarus dreams,
it was not for the flight
that he longed.

But the descent,
the freedom of the fall,
abandon, out of control,
between life and death.

For that one beautiful
moment, you gave yourself up
entirely.

The Crows in My HeadI try to live with these crows inside my head
they fly inside me, they are the voices I hear
and through their black eyes they see a world painted red,
in a shower of feathers of anger with no fear.

I know what it must be to live with me
when we are never alone and I cannot be free,
my crows care only for dead things
sanity carried away upon the back of their wings.

InhumanYour lies are so much more beautiful
than the truths you attempt to tell,
how I dislike the efforts you make
to be noble, it ill suits you
and your goodness holds no interest to me.

Why must we play that game
of pretending to care,
it is the moments of brutality
that spark your eyes which arouse my interest.

I prefer to think of you bloody
not draped in white,
you see with you I don't have to
masquerade as a better person.

There are times, frightening and sublime
when I feel I could throw it all away,
and walk the savage war path
without ever looking back.

But you hesitate and falter,
I do not believe in your guilt,

Demon InsideWill you love the demon
inside me? I know there is a darkness
in my soul that sinks down into the abyss,
and my heart beats callously.

I cannot pretend to be an angel,
I don't aspire for Sainthood,
I never have presumed that I was good,
and never sought to be better than this.

Will you tremble at the sight of me?
Revile within the truth of me,
do I repulse you so?

Or might you glimpse something
beyond all the insanity,
can you see past the nightmares
of my dreams?

to be saved, I don't want to be led
astray from my twisted path.

You Haunt Me StillYour voice haunts me
I feel I will never be free
the scent of you lingering still
to my core it gives me a chill.

There's no escape
in the shadows I see your shape
drifting still down these darkened halls
breathing out of the very walls.

This was our home
now you're gone yet I'm not alone
for some part of you still remains
bond to these memories like chains.

Scentless RoseMy love is a rose
of all thorns,
a scentless flower,
all monochrome.

I am a stormy gray day,
of heavy clouds
impregnated
only with bleak misery,
ready to descend.

At rare moments
I might appear
sepia toned,
my love can be found
in all the old photographs,
yellowed around the edges,
smiles starting to fade,

I know I am a cracked vase,
of little use,
no longer a water bearing urn,
no more for holding
beautiful frivolities,
but gathering dust,
where spiders dwell.

A deteriorating fresco
my colors do not shine,
and I exude an atmosphere
of dungeon dampness,
with cold stone floors.

upon your lips?
The Judas kiss,
it comes so sweet,
leaving a lingering bitter aftertaste,

Once you falsely pledged your love,
so now in death let us be wed,
already it begins to seep
into your bloodstream,
the blackness so discreetly
and decadently planted.

I promise you
it will be agony at first,
all your pretty words,
your little lies
can do you no more good,
there is no remorse,
no cure, but soon
it will be over
soon your eyes will close
for the final time.

I Crave YouI crave for you
with heated breath
thoughts of you
tumble in my head.

You taunt me so
leaving me wanting
begging with need
while you keep
a distance.

Just out of reach
all I want is to dig
my nails in and
drag you into me.

Sleepless nights
I spend while every
nerve beneath my
skin is alive in
awareness of you.

You keep me waiting
dripping in anticipation
uncontained and ready
to throw myself
full force onto you.

Her Ivory TowerShe had locked herself
within her ivory tower,
all the dreams, desires, fears
she may have had are
lost behind her faraway eyes.

She watches the sea
tossing away pieces of herself,
perhaps to wash ashore
as broken seashells.

Perhaps she seeks the
key that will unlock the prison
built around her mind.

She has become lost somewhere,
her body a living tomb
in which she can hide from the world
and bury something of herself
deep down inside.

She no longer knows she has a heart
or what she wants,
her fingers clasp at numbness
and secretly she hopes
that maybe one day she will just blow away
into the passing wind.

Only ShadowsI await his voice
but it never comes
only the silence
and shadows.

I despise my words,
the fact that I love
the melancholy,
a feeling that becomes
addiction.

I am in love with the pain,
a facade I wear on the inside,
there are passing moments
when it comes like a knife
in the night, sincerely.

But I latch on,
feeding from myself
draining it for everything
that it is worth.

I am a fraud to myself
because my laments
make me dance in the rain
in ecstatic delight.

But it is something
which I covet,
I do not flaunt
in self-pitying need
seeking attention.

Rather I prefer to appear
as iron clad,
but to believe I

ChastityThe years erode away
while she remains
imprisoned within her self-
imposed towers, alone,
untouched, unloved.

She may well be a statue
blown from glass for her
fragility, she may shatter
at any moment, a sacrifice
made to touch something
close to perfection.

Barely a thing of flesh
and blood, a withering
Shallot watching life
through shuttered windows.

But even that cursed
maiden was willing to give
it all for one burst of
passionate love.

While her counter-part
like a reflection still trapped
behind the mirror, clings
to a soul sucking purity.

Yet she can never die
because she hasn't
even begun to live.

two impossibles

I Die Forever In Your ArmsForever I die in your arms and die again when you look at me,
only within this eternal death can I seek to be free,
and always I wander in the shadows of the midnight sun,
beneath the metallic sky this journey is only half begun,
by killing me softly you have brought me again back life,
I weigh the balance on the edge of the sacrificial knife
while the thunder cracks, overhead I kneel to embrace strife,
I meet the Morrigan at her alter before the split tree,
death may be found in more ways then one, Mother War holds the gun,
lightning strikes, the blade falls and I rise as the Chaos Wife.

dweller in the dark,
where is the fear in your eyes?

Sensuous dark eyes arise
silently through midnight veils,
sumptuously emerging to full height,
silver-tongued laughter stimulating
shudders down the spine, like finger caresses,
sky clad nymphs basking beneath his gaze within
shimmering pools of light casting serpentine shadows.

Sin is the name of the ancient Sumerian god of the moon. An idea which I found to be both appealing as well as fitting. This is meant to capture the double meaning of Sin, as moon god, and as the world is commonly used today.
