Welcome to my world
there is no turning back,
the door as closed behind,
and the key is lost in the ether,
take my hand and come with me,
it won't help you to fight,
there is no resistance,
you belong to me,
you should know you are
already dead
there can be no escape,
but there is no need to suffer
if you will see me for who I am,
please don't mind my wall
of those poor screaming souls,
they never could accept
that now they must serve me,
and life have long left them devoid,
but there is no need for cruelty
if you will understand
that this is now your home,
just let go of everything
you used to know
and give yourself to me.

This is a meshing of two unlikely inspirations (that is unlikely perhaps to come together in the same work) I love the song "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" and in some new movie trailer they play a cool rendition of the song. And recently I was going through some of my old poems and came upon a poem I wrote about Persephone which brought to my mind her often not acknowledged role as being the Queen of the Underworld.

I took this as Hades speaking to Persephone, trying to convince her that the world he has for her isn't that bad. Yes, she can't leave, but he aims to make her not want to. He just wants to be loved by someone, and doesn't quite know how to make that happen, so he comes across a lot harsher than he should.
