beneath the expanse of your burning skies

I had meant to make this longer, but it felt like it was pushing the metaphor too far and becoming redundant and over done when I tried to add on another stanza.
Though I really like the concept of this one, I am not sure if it really feels complete, I may yet write a longer version if I can find just the right way to do so.

I think I agree about it not feeling quite complete. I'd like to offer you some advice on how to continue it, but the only thing I could think of would be to think about how the dessert dwellers use oasis to plan their trips, use it as a refuge and then leave it behind again. But I think you already kinda touched that.
