I can count every one of your ribs
through the translucency which has
become your skin,
watching as you vanish
before my eyes,
bit by bit at a time
you don't even realize.
Your grotesque
idea of beauty,
you only draw attention
because you have made
a freak show of your physique.
I wonder how many years of bad luck
it would be, if I were to accidentally
break you?
I would have to be a
necrophiliac to slide
between your sheets,
because you look like death,
half-decayed inside.

Because as of late I have done a variety of poems dealing with the issue of domestic violence, I was feeling that subject was a little worn for me, and I was trying to think of another way in which to approach this topic.
I happened to see a photo of this girl whom to my mind was repulsively skinny and that gave me the idea for this.
