Literature Text

They watch you with their vacant,
soulless stare, dead eyes,
which send chills down the spine.

There is evil lurking within their hearts,
like parasites they mean to feed
upon us, drain us dry, rob of us
of our mind, so like them we will
become empty shells.

Everywhere you turn like shadows,
silent sentinels, they loom,
as vultures circling awaiting
for death so they may feast.

It seems there is no sanctuary,
they crawl out of the gutters,
like rats, they infest the streets,
a spreading epidemic.

Apathy a disease passed
among them, they hunt in packs,
heard together, violence on the tips
of their tongues, sullen looks,
exhaling toxins with every breath
it is a living death they wander in.
Fear of teenagers or youth

Now this is one I can relate to. In part this was inspired by my few experiences in the mall, a place I try to avoid going at any and all costs. All the high school students hanging out there, makes me feel like I entered into a zombie movie.

Good poem.
I saw the name and I had to see what it was.

Do you mean herd together or heard together?
