Literature Text

It quakes before me
a writhing serpent
swallowed continually in the darkness
like ouroboros rising,
in the endless cycle
of death and birth,
the light glimmers by me
I catch snatches of it
through the shadows
from within the belly of the beast,
as the moon awaiting
to be born again,
the tumbling translucent egg,
it hatches the sun
which comes with blinding
brilliant force
until phoenix-like
it dies out falling into
a thousand ashes.

I like this quite a lot. I like the themes of eternal recurrence in the day/night struggle. Have you read a lot about the Ouruborous, Jormungand and the like?

Heh. Funny coincidence. I just wrote a poem about the old Weltschlange, just a night or two ago. I wonder if the two idea came from the same place. Yours reminds me quite a bit of mine, albeit from a different angle. I should post it soon.

Also, for vainglory, some old stuff I wrote is over in the "more from dA" section. So that means all the cool kids are on the block.
